What we collect. Where it lives. Why it never leaves.

This page exists because "privacy policy" usually means a legal document nobody reads, written for a lawyer instead of the person it's supposed to protect.

LumoScroll watches your reading behavior. That's sensitive territory. You deserve to know exactly what it records, where that data lives, and whether any of it leaves your device. Not a summary. Specifics.

Short version: LumoScroll stores a minimal derived signal from your browsing. Never post content, never author names, never URLs. By default, nothing leaves your browser. There's one exception, documented precisely below.

What is collected

After every post you spend more than 2.5 continuous seconds on, LumoScroll stores one record. Here's exactly what that record contains:

Each record is roughly 200 bytes. The free tier retains 30 days; Pro retains 90. Records older than the retention window are purged automatically.

All records live in chrome.storage.local, tied to the extension on your specific device. It doesn't sync to Chrome's cloud and doesn't leave your computer. Uninstalling erases every record.

Where it lives

On your device. Nowhere else.

There's no LumoScroll server, no database, no third-party analytics attached to the extension. No Mixpanel, no Segment, no Google Analytics. The extension makes zero outbound network requests unless you've explicitly connected an API key under Settings → Integrations. Without that, it operates entirely offline.

You can verify this yourself. Open Chrome DevTools → Network tab, start recording, and scroll your feed with LumoScroll active. Every request will belong to the platform you're on. LumoScroll contributes none.

Every record lives in local storage tied to the extension. Remove it and the data is gone with it.

If you purchase Pro

Payment is processed by Dodo Payments, a merchant of record. LumoScroll receives your email address, to send your licence key, and confirmation that payment succeeded. It does not receive or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail.

Your email is used only to deliver your licence key and to respond if you contact support. It's not used for marketing and not shared with anyone.

scripting / content scripts

Observes the viewport on supported platforms. Content scripts run only on Twitter/X, Reddit, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and never activate anywhere else.

No permission gives LumoScroll access to your browsing history, passwords, or anything outside the four supported platforms.
